Excellent article. I had a dna test a few years ago . I had a mix of about 50% Norse, 25% Celtic, 15% Anglo/saxon 9%iberian and 1% North African !!. My name is Turner and my mother’s maiden name is Galloway , very Scottish ! . I could not work out the mix until a recent visit to Morocco and the Atlas Mountains. The Berbers are fine people and I believe they were the first people to settle on the Canary Islands. I believe they also traveled and traded in ancient times up the west coast of Europe to settle in Ireland and beyond. There are stone circles in Morocco that match the ones up the west coast of Europe . The evidence is mounting. Also there is linguistic and music connections.

it is most likely Berber due to the fact that Berber is the main language of Morocco and has been for thousands of years and some of the cities went under different names like how zayton is now quanzhou and ardyan is now riyadh

That is just how people identify as, Tunisians look nothing like middle eastern, they have a Maghrebi look and so do other Maghrebis, I know you want to be an Arab so bad, but the real Arabs don't like you, no need to be something you aren't when you can be proud of your origins. Tunisia is a country with a long history, no need for the Arabs, the French or who ever else to overwrite who we are.

on the contrary, the term MENA reflects realities more than the term “Arab world” which is too reductive. The term MENA highlights a distinction between North Africans (Amazigh) and Middle Easterners (who are not all Arabs), but while not denying the deep cultural and social ties that unite these two regions: languages Afro-Asian, Islam for more than a millennium, different but similar traditions and customs. To conclude, the term MENA is correct, because it highlights ethnic and regional diversity while taking into account the deep ties that unite these two regions.

This is a great idea. Another way for those in Belgium and Europe to learn Tamazight is to use the free World Schoolbooks app. It allows learners to learn Tamazight in Dutch, French, German, English, etc.
