Amazigh calls on Morocco King to declare Amazigh New Year’s Day a national holiday

Rabat – A Facebook live video shows Mr. Rachid Rakha, Amazigh activist and President of the Amazigh World Assembly, in front of a Moroccan post office sending a request letter to the King Mohammed VI of Morocco as well as to the Prime Minister, Saad eddin Al-Othmani, renewing calls for the recognition of Amazigh New Year or “yennayer” as it is known in Tamazight (Berber language) as a national holiday. Mr Rakha, has also addressed the Amazigh community in Morocco and abroad to use the same strategy to put more pressure on the Moroccan regime to achieve this long time request. [ads1]
