The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and PUMA have officially unveiled “ITRI,” the official match ball for the upcoming TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025), set to take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
The name “ITRI” means “star” in Tamazight (Amazigh language), reflecting Morocco’s native cultural heritage and the star featured on its national flag. The design draws inspiration from Moroccan zellij, the country’s famous geometric mosaic art, combining intricate star and tile patterns in red and green, the national colors of Morocco.
Beyond its striking design, the ITRI ball features PUMA’s latest Orbita technology, ensuring consistent flight, precision, and durability — the same level of performance used in professional tournaments worldwide.
The ITRI ball symbolizes more than sport: it celebrates African creativity, unity, and the fusion of tradition with innovation. It will debut on the pitch in the opening match of AFCON 2025 and is expected to be available for fans and collectors through select PUMA outlets worldwide.
“ITRI represents the light, ambition, and artistry of African football,” CAF said during the unveiling ceremony.
