Ferhat M’henni, President of the Movement for the Autonomy of Kabylie, was a victim of a violent assault by a young man in Paris’ 20th arrondissement late Tuesday.

It has been reported that during the attack, the attacker shouted “Long live Palestine” as well as “We are going to skin him”, referring to Mass Ferhat.
The attacker fled quickly the scene, Mr. M’henni filed a complaint to the local authorities “against unknown individual who he described as as a young person between 25 to 30 years, around 1.75, slightly corpulent”.
This is not the first time Mass Ferhat is facing these type of attacks, in fact, it has been a target of several verbal abuse by government media such as Ennahar Tv and political islamist party leader such as Naïma Salhi.

Ferhat Mehenni (1951-), is a Kabyle musician and politician, a cofounder (2001) and president of the Mouvement pour l’Autonomie de la Kabylie (MAK), the only large-scale movement in exile, standing in opposition to the current Algerian regime and calling for an independent Amazigh state in northern Algeria.Â
