Today we commemorate the death of Muhend Saidi who died on this day in 2013 after a long battle with cancer, Muhend was an Amazigh painter, caricaturist, illustrator, and calligrapher who dedicated his life to defending the Amazigh culture and identity.
He was an Amazigh activists who conducted educational workshops in almost every Moroccan city and university around the country, He drew, painted and caricatured freely on his experiences as an Amazigh Militant, His artworks have provoked many shocked reaction from the authorities which caused him daily pressure, but never bowed his knee to anyone or back down from a fight.
Muhend Saidi was a true artist who sacrificed his life for the love of art and in service of the Amazigh people and culture.
