Mustapha Bacha

Came from a very poor family, Mustapha Bacha, was born on July 28, 1956 at Tassaft Ouguemoun, a small village of Arch Boudrar Ath, in the wilaya of Tizi-Ouzou. he died August 8, 1994 from cardiac arrest.

Mustapha Bacha is an Amazigh activist who spent his life defending his people and their identity, he was arrested several times by the Algerian forces, he was one of 24 detainees of the 1980 Amazigh spring. following his release from prison he had greatly contributed to the success of the first seminar of the MCB to Yakouren.

Mustpaha was one of the main organizers of the Amazigh movement in years 80. his militarism and effective presence in the field led to his second arrest.On the occasion of the “national” day of the student, in 1981, he was again arrested and sent to prison for a year.

His dynamism and commitment made him one of the main founding members of several political and trade union organizations like the Berbère Cultural Movement, the Revolutionary Organization of Workers, the Rally for Culture and Democracy, the Democratic Union of workers and finally the Movement for the Republic.
