Nasser Zefzafi Predicted to be Among Nominees for European Parliament’s Sakharov Prize

Nasser Zefzafi, the leader of the protest movement in the Rif, commonly known as “Hirak Rif” (Riffian movement), who have been living in a very inhuman conditions after being held in solitary confinement for more than nine months now, in the Oukacha prison in Casablanca.

On next July 2018, Nasser is predicted to be among nominees for the European Parliament’s Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. The prize is awarded to individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the fight for human rights across the globe, drawing attention to human rights violations as well as supporting the laureates and their cause.
