[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he New York Forum of Amazigh Film returns this year in its third edition. The festival will take place Thursday and Friday, May 4-5, 2017 at La Guardia Community College’s Little Theater in Long Island City in New York.

The New York Forum of Amazigh Film this year is a two-day event to discover and discuss new aspects of Tamazight political, linguistic and cultural pluralism through screening a diverse array of films from all over North Africa ‘Tamazgha’. Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Canary Islands, Morocco, and Siwa-Egypt are all presented in a very interesting, highly expressive and informative collection of films and documentaries.

A total of 13 Amazigh films and documentaries have been selected for this year’s edition, representing different dialects of the Amazigh language such as Tashalhyt, Tarifit, Kabyle, Guanches, Tamasheq and others.  All will be heard and watched in this year’s collection followed by live Amazigh music.[ads1]The third edition of the New York Forum of Amazigh Film is not only celebrating the linguistic and cultural richness of Tamazight, but also offers an opportunity to see arts and language, both engaged in a great conversation on the transmission and resistance of the indigenous people within pluralistic societies.

The New York Forum of Amazigh Film is free and open to the public, and All films will be introduced and followed by a Q&A with invited experts.
