In Pictures: Amazigh New Year celebration in Tunisia brings out Amazigh community, political hopefuls

Several hundred people gathered in Tamezret, a small village in southern Tunisia mainly Amazigh, on January 13th, 2016, to take part in Amazigh new year celebrations, Yennayer 2966 with various activities such as folksongs, dance, and traditional food.
Yennayer marks the arrival of the first day of the agrarian calendar year used since ancient times by the Amazigh people throughout North Africa.
