Berbers or Amazighs are the indigenous people of North Africa who have lived in the region for thousands of years. They live in massive mud brick structures often built on fortified mountaintops or dug into the ground. But now, most of this traditional architecture is slowly being replaced by a new style – with cement and modern design.
