The Hillloula is a celebration marking the life of a well-known rabbi, sage, or saint on the anniversaryof his death. it often consist of a pilgrimage to the gravesite and/or the sharing of a meal and lighting of candles and it is a sephardic custom practiced especially in North Africa.
