[dropcap]M[/dropcap]orocco police fired tear gas and used truncheons at peaceful protesters yesterday as they entered their ninth month of peaceful protests in the Rif region.

The mass protest took place late on Tursday July 20th in the city of Al-Hoceima where tensions have escalated high since the mass arrests and detentions of prominent activists from the Rif popular movement known as Hirak.

Moroccan police have arrested 40 people and injured more than 100 people including young children, women and older people. Here are some of the photos from the site:[ads1]
