British Researcher Forced to Leave Morocco After Expressing Sympathy with Rif Cause

Al Hoceima — Morocco forced Ms Khadija Chennoufi-Gilkes, a PhD Research Student in Socio-Linguistic Anthropologyto leave the country Thursday, February 2nd, 2017, the latest in a series of Moroccan government actions targeting foreign reporters and human rights activists for expressing sympathy with the ongoing popular movement in Al Hoceima.

Khadija who ultimately decided to finish up her research project in Rif, in Northern Morocco about the Amazigh identity after she faced the same fate in Kabylie by the Algerian government, Northern Algeria, who expelled her following her open criticism of Algerian regime.
