The Amazigh World Assembly has concluded on Sunday (29 March 2022) the 10th Annual conference of World Amazigh assembly in Ouarzazate, a city south of Morocco’s High Atlas mountains.
This year’s edition was organized in partnership with ‘Le Monde Amazigh’ newspaper and the German ‘Friedrich Naumann Foundation’, under the theme of “What urgent measures to be taken to protect, revitalize and promote the indigenous language of North Africans?”
The conference was attended by delegations from Niger, Algeria, Spain, Belgium and France as well as from many cities across Morocco.
Mr Rachid Raha, head of the Amazigh World Assembly, delivered the opening speech to the attendees, in which he stressed the importance of peace and tolerance in multicultural societies.
The congress had been postponed at least twice for the last two editions due to the spread of COVID-19.
