Boston Celebrates Amazigh New Year with Music, Dance, and Heritage

Somerville, MA — January 10, 2026 — The Amazigh American Network Organization (AANO) celebrated their annual Amazigh New Year event, Yennayer 2976, at the Armory Hall in Somerville. The event brought together community members, cultural enthusiasts, and friends from across New England for an evening filled with music, dance, and tradition.

Guests enjoyed vibrant performances showcasing Amazigh rhythms and folkloric dances, along with presentations on the history, language, and symbols of Amazigh culture. Traditional sweets and tea added warmth to the celebration, offering attendees a taste of North African heritage.

Organizers highlighted the importance of fostering community, pride, and cultural awareness, while attendees appreciated the opportunity to connect with their roots and share the rich traditions of the Amazigh people.
