Carrying Amazigh flag and banners with their messages in several languages, the Amazigh Akal movement held a large protest on Sunday in Casabalaca, Morocco, to condemn the “expropriation” of their land and protest the Morocco government not taking action to prevent overgrazing. The protests called for the return of “usurped lands”—a reference to the Arab invasion of Morocco centuries ago, fair distribution of wealth, and action on the repeated attacks of wild boars from damaging indigenous Amazigh people’s land.
