The Endangered Alphabets project will be hosting a free online conference tonight, November 1, at 6:00 PM EDT, about the “Tifinagh: The Once and Future Alphabet?.”
The conference will be managed by Tim Brookes, founder of the Endangered Alphabets Project, and also a writer, editor, and woodcarver. Tim was an essayist for NPR for twenty years and is the author of sixteen books, including Guitar: An American Life and Endangered Alphabets.
The Amazigh script of North Africa, known as “Tifinagh” is one of the oldest writing systems in the world, Tifinagh is 34 characters alphabet used by the Amazigh people in North Africa to write in Tamazight (Amazigh language) and record their traditions and customs.
