The new updated logo faced a huge backlash from Amazigh activists in social media over its exclusion of an Amazigh’ touch, native identity of the region of Souss.

Activist urged the city’s officials to revise the language used, ‘Arabic’, as well as the design, that swapped city nature on the old logo with new one of a pyramid shape, similar to official logo of Cairo, capital of Egypt.
