A new generation of Amazigh in the Canary islands are discovering the language of their ancestors and campaigning to revive the unique culture and identity of the aboriginal inhabitants of the Canary Islands, commonly known as Guanches.
“The time has come to rehabilitate Amazigh language and identity of our ancestors, which have been disappeared for decades.” says Rumén Sosa Professor of Geography and History.
Along with his two friends, Fernando Batista and Jusay Mahamud, Rumén is desperately trying everyday to practice his native language, they believe that no matter how hard the situation, nothing is impossible when you want to fulfill a dream.Â
