The eighth Ifrane International Festival is set to bring together music, environmental debate, and Amazigh heritage in the Middle Atlas from July 25 to 28, 2026, with organizers framing this year’s program around Ifrane National Park and sustainable development.
Al Alam Amazigh reported that the festival, organized by the Ifrane Forum for Culture and Development with provincial and local partners, will run under the theme of Ifrane National Park as an exceptional natural heritage site facing environmental challenges and development questions. The program is expected to include concerts, public activities, scientific meetings, sports events, and educational programming.
The Amazigh heritage element is especially visible in the closing “Ahidous Symphony,” a large collective performance built around the traditional music and dance of the Middle Atlas. Ahidous remains one of the region’s most recognizable forms of communal artistic expression, bringing together poetry, rhythm, movement, and collective memory.
Several Moroccan outlets have highlighted the environmental orientation of the 2026 edition, noting the festival’s focus on cedar forests, biodiversity, and the relationship between culture and nature. That emphasis gives the event a double role: promoting summer tourism in Ifrane while using a cultural platform to draw attention to fragile mountain ecosystems.
