Agadir’s Issni N’Ourgh International Amazigh Film Festival plans to honor researcher, anthropologist and cultural organizer Helene E. Hagan during its 17th edition, according to a September 23 report by Amadal Amazigh. The festival is scheduled for October 1–5 in Agadir; the festival’s entry listing confirms those dates.
The reported tribute recognizes Hagan’s work researching and sharing Amazigh culture internationally. Hagan founded the Tazzla Institute for Cultural Diversity, whose projects include the Amazigh Film Festival in the United States. The festival’s biography of Hagan describes the institute’s educational work and her production of cultural television programs.
