Midar – A massive wildfire broke out in a forest near ‘Ijarmawas’ town in eastern Rif mountains early Friday morning causing massive amounts of damage and evacuations.

The blaze has quickly spread to the neighboring Rif Wildlife Refuge. Initial damage reports estimate that more than 150 acres (60 Hectares) of forestland sustained damage.

Two aircraft and 40 firefighters in addition to dozens of army forces have been battling the fire for hours now and are beginning to make small steps in containing the fire, however, current high temperatures and dry conditions are likely to cause the fire to spread to the surrounding areas.
