Ain Leuh is hosting the 25th National Ahidous Festival from July 23 to July 25, 2026, in Morocco’s Ifrane province, with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication presenting the gathering as a showcase for one of the country’s central Amazigh performing traditions.
In an official announcement published on July 22, the ministry said the festival is organized with the Thaymat Association for Atlas Arts and local partners under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI. The ministry described Ahidous as a core element of Morocco’s intangible cultural heritage and said this year’s edition is focused on the art form’s festive and performative dimensions.
Secondary coverage ahead of the opening said around 40 troupes from across Morocco were expected to take part, reflecting different regional styles of Ahidous. Those reports also said the program would include tribute segments for veteran performers recognized for helping preserve and transmit the tradition.
The three-day event gives Ain Leuh renewed visibility as a meeting point for Amazigh song, dance, poetry, and collective performance in the Middle Atlas. It also shows how Moroccan cultural institutions continue to frame heritage festivals as both preservation work and local development tools.
