Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication has opened applications for the 24th National Press Prize, with a dedicated award category for Amazigh journalistic production.
According to the ministry’s 9 October announcement, the 2026 prize also covers television, radio, print, electronic press, the news agency, regional press, photography, investigative journalism and caricature, among other categories.
Eligible entries must have been published or broadcast by a national media outlet between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026. Candidates must be Moroccan nationals, have worked for at least three years in a national media organisation, and hold a current press card, the ministry said.
Applications may be submitted individually or collectively. One work may be entered in each category, except photography, for which up to ten works may be submitted. Media organisations may also nominate a journalist or team.
The ministry says entries can be filed from 8 to 30 October 2026, either at the organising committee’s secretariat in Rabat or by email using the official application form. The announcement was also carried by the government portal Maroc.ma.
